Costing a shipment before it lands
Most disputes with a client start the same way: a landed cost was quoted from memory, and the assessed amount came back higher. The duty calculator works the charge up the way customs does. Customs duty, regulatory duty and additional customs duty are each taken on the assessable value; sales tax is then charged on that value plus all three duties, and the income tax advance on everything including the sales tax. Because the later levies sit on a base that already contains the earlier ones, an estimate built by adding the percentages together and applying them once comes out low — and the gap grows with the value of the consignment. Seeing the breakdown line by line is also what lets you explain a figure to an importer who is convinced it should be lower.
Confirming a classification before you file
The HS code lookup searches Pakistan's customs tariff by PCT code or by plain product description, and shows the duty and sales tax rates recorded against each heading. It is most useful in the other direction than people expect: not finding a code you already know, but checking what a neighbouring heading would cost before you commit to one on the GD. A classification is far cheaper to get right at filing than to argue about after assessment.
Browsing the tariff when you don't have a code yet
Search only helps once you know roughly what the tariff calls your goods, and the tariff's wording is often not the trade name — a zipper is a “slide fastener”. The HS code list lets you work down from the chapter instead: pick the chapter your goods belong to, then read the headings until the description fits. It is also the answer to the usual reason people go looking for a tariff PDF — the whole list is here, in the browser, with the rates beside each code.
What these tools are, and what they are not
All three are free, need no signup, and are meant for estimating and checking. They are not a filing system and they do not connect to WeBOC or PSW — the assessed amount on your GD is whatever customs determines. Rates move with SROs and budget changes, so treat any figure here as a well-informed estimate and verify anything a commercial decision rests on against the current tariff.
